Ci fermiamo così in una stazione di servizio together with other hunters and Wait for the supercells important. At about 17.30 to 18 leave the first cumulonimbus. He began hunting on the highway. We try to bring in the first supercell, then listens for another. The cells run fast and now darkness falls. The cloud to ground lightning strikes are frequent and very close, the bases of the thunderstorms are very low. We try to see something under the bed, but not seen funnel. After more than an hour of catching up and we end up near the gas station had to stop to refuel. Here we decided to go to intercept the cell that hit Memphis, TN, now that we're running too far north.
Party and, after traveling winding streets, we enter into highway. Here we encounter the first supercell of the downdraft. The visibility in some sections is reduced to zero. We have our eyes glued to the road and the PC to follow the movement of the supercell. Lightning strikes are frequent and neighbors: at some point one hits a transformer exploded not far away and when the sky turns green. A little later after the visibility can be even worse than it was before the light and suddenly jumps on the highway. A point on the highway is particularly flooded, traveling about 50 mph and we come across a huge pool of at least 40 cm of water: almost nailed, most do not understand even if we are still on the road, but "look" the puddle at speed.
